inexpensive headsets by
Jimmy B.
I only occasionally take passengers. It just seems that my schedule and
the schedules of people I know just don't mesh very well.
Having said that, I do occasionally have passengers with me. As such, I
am looking to buy a couple inexpensive headsets.
It seems that the Marv Golden headsets are...

Girl Scouts and aviation?? by
Montblack
Over the years I've seen a few Cub Scout / aviation posts on these
newsgroups. I do not recall seeing similar Girl Scout / aviation posts.
Anyone out there have any Girl Scout / aviation stories or experiences?
At our airport, again over the years, I've seen Boy Scout groups around but
no Girl...

Garmin iQue 3600a -- sunlight screen readability? by
Chuck
Folks,
I'M about to start flying again, and so am giving the 3600a a serious
look! I currently have one of the original 3600, which is nearly
invisible when outdoors.
I notice that the 3600a now has a transflective TFT, and so I'm hoping
that somebody has tried it and can comment on how visible...

PIREP - Planes of Fame, Chino, California [long] by
Casey Wilson
Had some relatives in from Alaska last week. Al, a commercial fisherman
on Kodiak Island, shares ownership of a 150HP Super Cub on floats with one
of his sons. They use the airplane occasionally to spot fish when the boat
is working close enough to land to make it worth while.
In advance of the...

How hard is it to get disablity insurance???!!! by
Ins risk?
Hi all,
I recently bought a condo. Immediately after closing I was bombarded with
solicitations for disability insurance. I finally agreed to have an agent
come out to the house and go over the details. I subsequently signed the
papers. That was over a month ago.
After several subsequent phone...

Hi Guys,
With this Airport supposed to be opening this Summer, are the aproach plates
and other aviation charts available yet?
I ask as I'm not a pilot (although hope to start training when I've finished

I'm considering adding a passenger headset as my wife doesn't want anyone
using "her" headset. I'd like to get a PASSIVE set but a good quality
comfortable one along the quality of the Telex Echelon's my wife wears.
Considering another Telex set with is fairly well adjustable but have seen

Arrogant judges making law... by
Denny
Quoted text to follow my comments:
The Federal Judges have gone nuts (so what's new?)... Based on what I
read here a non pilot judge has decided that the controller is
obligated to fly the airplane... These kinds of garbage rulings have
enormous concequences for the rest of us as pilots... The...

Lunch at the beach MRY PIREP by
Wizard of Draws
Had a great flight today, my longest x-country so far at 276 miles. It was a
$100 hamburger flight from 47A (Canton, GA. 40 miles north of Atlanta) to
MYR, Myrtle Beach, SC. With a stiff tailwind, I had the outbound leg and
made it from engine start to shutdown in exactly 2.0 on the Hobbs.

Amateur Review of the Garmin GPSMAP 296 GPS
I've been using the GPSMAP 296 for about a week now, and since there's really not that much
detailed info available about it (even on the Garmin site), I figured it might help some
people to get a little idea of how it works. Maybe other owners can...
