AFOSI/PJ by
andrzej
I'm looking for the information about events which took place in 1980's.
Then during the studies on Stealth (F-117) airplanes US government
agencies spreaded disinformation. I'm interested particulary in PJ
AFOSI department and its director - Col. Hennessey. It is said that he
has been proved to...

FORMATIONS, BOMB RUNS AND RADIUS OF ACTION
Formation flying burned fuel. Lots of fuel. And the tighter the formation the
the more fuel burned. And the further back you were in the formation the more
fuel burned. Look at it this way. The lead plane set throttles for the desired
IAS and pretty...

Military HF communications under attack by
Gene Storey
The FCC is full speed ahead with its BPL (Broadband over Powerline)
rule-making, and the U.S. Air Force is looking to spend billions now on
replacement communications systems, as the use of HF radio will no
longer be possible. Some studies have even predicted that interference
problems will go all...

Nellis on the blocks? by

Not likely. Just came from Nellis and spoke to a Colonel. He said they are
pouring tens of millions into expansions, additions and improvements in almost
every area. I think Nellis will be around for a while.

Predator w/ Sniper Rifle by
Dav1936531
I am seeing all kinds of pics comming out of Iraq of the jihadis mulling around
in the streets carrying RPG's and AK's.
I was just wondering if it would be possible to make a Predator drone with a
..50 caliber sniper rifle in it to pick these guys off. Say, put a magazine with
50 or 100 rounds...

Stupid question about flight testing and "the envelope" by
Scott Ferrin
In this month's "Combat Aircraft" there is an article on the F-22 and
in it one of the people invloved in flight testing says "Flying at the
edge of the envelope pushes this aircraft harder than any operational
F/A-22 will ever be pushed." Is that hyperbole? There are instances
in the past where...
