The effects of Ethanol on... by
ventus2
Not wanting to restart the previous discussion on how ethanol is made and
how much is in which fuel, available where, the question I am interested in
is; does anyone know what effects ethanol will have on:
tanks - metal / composite
fuel systems - tubing/electric pumps/carbys
Engine - serviceability...

Terra VOR-GS by
Paul Anton
I have a Terra TN200 VOR with GS, Tri-Nav indicator, tray, wiring harness
and maintenance manual.
The local Avionics shop is loath to test and yellow tag it since they're not
set up for Terra. I don't want to send it to Eastern Avionics for yellow tag
so it is priced accordingly.
I live fairly...

'Room Temperature' by
Anthony
That's a valid point and room temp beer in the UK often is fresh from the
cellar where temps are certainly lower. I didn't think a still Lucas joke
would stir things up so much, I expected the Canadian hockey joke would have
gotten more attention. ;o)

Hidden costs of ethenol by

Advice on landing lights? by
Rob Turk
We're looking at installing landing lights on our Rans S6S. The ones offered
by Aircraft Spruce are a bit big, about 5" diameter. I'm trying to find
something a bit smaller but equally effective. Does anyone here know what
(if any) requirements a landing light has, such as beam angle,...

KI-214 Service Manual by
Jim Weir
Anybody got a 214 service manual that I can borrow for a week. I'll be glad to
pay a reasonable "rental" plus send a reasonable deposit plus shipping to get
it.
I freely admit...to blundering and misreading and then using the KI-211 pinout
to wire the interconnect to the 170B. Here's some free...

wanted: hangar door tips by
Joa
Our EAA chapter had a 40' hangar door that split in the middle and
folded sideways (each half). The ends were hinged and the center had
a single roller that ran in a track above. The bottom was not
attached in any way and just hung. It was held closed and open with
large steel pins that dropped...

Citabria 7ECA Exhaust Wanted by
Capt. Dave
Hi
Citabria with a Lycoming 0-235, Homebuilt. I need an exhaust system similar
to an RV4's including heat muffs. I don't know if an 0-320 has the same
exhaust as an 0-235. Apparently the crossover option is a must for
horsepower, and the intake tubes and carb location are different than...

Bruce Shankle
Dear fellow aviation enthusiasts,
I recently purchased X-Plane and had such an interesting experience that
I thought I'd share (see http://home.nc.rr.com/bshankle/xplane.html).
I am curious if any of you have had an experience anywhere close to mine?
Sincerely,
Bruce Shankle

Looking for a two-seater design by
Shin Gou
that has about 100hp, can fly basic aerobatics safely and cruise at
least 150mph. My reference and comparison of this design is Cessna
A150. I want a design that has the same aerobtic capability as Cessna
A150 with lighter control(Stick of course!), and flys much faster. What
I can think of...

Is Charley telling us anything about A/C tie-down? by

Does anybody know of any wind-tunnel tests for analysis of tie-down
behaviour? I tried a google search without much success.
Having seen the Charley pictures from Orlando Executive and Punta Gorda, I'm
wondering if we are doing the right thing.
The standard for tricycle gear GA planes seems to...

1/2 place flex seating configuration by

Trading off tandem vs side by side seating I came upon an idea I
wanted to run by the group. The mission my aircraft needs to perform
is mostly a single place weekend out and back kind of mission, with an
occasional 2 person XC trip. I'd been homing on the tandem seat
config because I like the...

Corvair Engine Conversion Breakin Success by

William Wynne and his talented team helped
me achieve a successful breakin on my '65, 100hp "Airvair".
His manual was my bible and other than one slightly misadjusted valve, a
couple of initial oil leaks and a balky carb, things went well. Whatever
tools, etc that I had forgotten to bring were...

U shaped wings

engines and props within the U.
When did that occur and what magazine was that; anyone know? A vague memory...

Single-rotor Mazda engines.... any flying our there? by

I am toying with teh idea of using a single-rotor turbo-normalized mazda
with reduction-drive and was wondering if there are any builders out there
who have checked out the same possibility? I'm only looking for around
100-120 hp, with weight an obvious consideration.
The only name I have heard of...
