Fetching the Hurricanes - new articles by
Jukka O. Kauppinen
When Winter War started, with Soviet Union's attack against the tiny
Finland, Finnish government started seeking for equipment and aircraft
from any plane and country that would sell.
"Calle: Let's review the general situation at first. Finland was a poor
country, so we couldn't buy proper flight...

Airborne ballistic missile defense? by
Henry J. Cobb
Why not use the E-10A
http://globalsecurity.org/org/news/2003/030818-military767-01.htm
to spot incoming ballistic missiles and then have an interceptor
dropped from a B-52 hardpoint to engage the target?
As the B-52 will already be several miles high it reduces the rocket
booster power needed...

Titor's Time Machine... USAF Missile Box??? by
Jason Strong
Anyone been to the site dedicated to supposed time traveler John
Titor?
If so, can any of you identify the box that Titor claims to be a GE
C-202 Time Displacement Unit from 2036?
I read his story and looked closely at his color photos of the machine
but to me it looks just like an ordinary (our...

F-15/16 Harpoon ( Was: B-52/Harpoon) by
Allen Thomson
Somewhat against my better judgment, I got interested in the current
Harpoon discussions and, googling about, found
http://www.chinfo.navy.mil/navpalib/factfile/missiles/wep-harp.html
The Harpoon missile has been integrated on foreign F-16 aircraft
and is presently being integrated on foreign...

pitot tube down by
Emilio
A portion of thread from different news grope:
loss of a 757 a few years ago in which clogged pitot tubes
caused bad overspeed warnings; the Turkish crew pulled
back the power and stalled and crashed. It was later determined
that the A/C had sat for a month and insects had gotten...

German High Speed SAM Missile by
JT
Does anyone have any details on the German high velocity (Mach 5-6)
missile called the HFK (or HFK2)? Sounds like an interesting project
which I believe will be operational around 2010.

Iran crisis 1946 and Yugoslavia by

With the USSR stuck in northern Iran (Azerbaijan) in spring 1946, there
were Soviet complaints of incursions into Soviet airspace by two US

sorties over southern USSR, but does anyone have details or a reference
for USAAF (or...

the Israeli attack on the Iraqi Osirak/Tammuz 17 nuclear...
