A/C Retrofit for Cherokee Six by
John Pelchat
Does anyone have information regarding the feasibility of retrofitting
air-conditioning into a Piper Cherokee, possibly a 6/260? I live in
the southeast and would be flying toward Florida where heat and
humidity are a real challenge much of the year. A/C is one of things
that my wife would consider...

New California Tax Provision by
Jim Weir
There has been a new wrinkle added to the California state/local property tax
exemption for aircraft of "historical interest". Historical interest is an
aircraft over 35 years old OR an aircraft that there are less than 5 copies of
in the world.
Most of us flying old airplanes fit into the 35...

$3 digital voltmeters by
Jim Weir
For those of you who want a cheap knockaround digital voltmeter (multimeter,
actually) Harbor Freight has them for $2.99 apiece (part #30756).
Shipping is $6 PER ORDER minimum, so I'd probably get together with the chapter
and order a couple of dozen to spread the shipping costs around.
The...

The Mustang Suite is done! by
Jay Honeck
***CAUTION -- SHAMELESS PLUG WARNING ***
I've been promising this one for six months -- and we have finally finished
the Mustang Suite!
We took our most popular suite (it's popular because it's our smallest,
cheapest Jacuzzi suite) and loaded it up with new wall paper border,
carpeting, window...

A Perfect Flying Day by
Mike Adams
On Friday, I had the perfect opportunity to demonstrate the fun and beauty
of general aviation, and thought I should share it with you all, just so
you don't feel sorry for us next summer when it's 110 degrees hot here!
We had some out of town visitors from Minnesota, here in the Southwest for
the...

Announcing WINNER of "Can you help Identify this airport" contest! by
Video Guy
Thanks to all who took the time to look at my "mystery" airport photo.
Seems the only mystery was on my end. It took less than 12 hours from
posting for Paul Sisson of Litchfield Aerobatic Club to send in the
correct answer.
At least it's the correct answer in the opinion of several who...

74 Archer Nav light switch by
Mike Noel
Any advice on how to change a nav light on/off switch. It's attached to the
roller knob that also controls the panel lights. I don't see any obvious
way to remove it from the front, and the back is not easy to get a look at
while lying next to the rudder pedals. I can get the lights to come on...

Mounting my GPS by
Charles Talleyrand
I have a C-150 and a Garmin GPS Pilot III. Right now it's mounted on
above the interment panel near (but not too close) to the compass.
I would like to mount it on the yoke. Does anyone have any experience
with yoke mounts on a 1966 Cessna 150? Will normal yoke mounts
work well? Must I really...

Looking for user comment : Oil Sump Heater by
Javier Gorordo
If anyone has experience with the Reiff's HotStrip Oil Sump Heater,
will appreciate any input as to its usefulness/performance.
Specifically, I wonder how well (how fast) this pair of 100W heater
strips can warm up a cold-soaked sump (8-qts) in an O-300 (open
hangar, assume low in the 20s...

How many hours are required for twin insurance by
Kevin Chandler
Greeting to All,
I am investigating the possibility of purchasing my own plane in the next 12
months. With the soft prices on twin airplanes, they are starting to look a
little more appealing to me than a big single. I have spent a lot of time
investigating costs associated with maintenance so I...

Vibration is Citabria by
TIm Gilbert
We have a '67 KCAB that has a weird vibration from time to time. You can
feel it in the stick and seat. It is the worst around 2200-2400 rpm but
only in the air. On the ground it isn't noticeable. Oil analysis is fine
and the engine seems smooth. We've installed new motor mounts and
everything...

Spinning Horizon by

Here's a weird one I'd never heard of before but maybe one of you guys can
explain. I installed a new attitude indicator last week and went out for a
test flight yesterday. It's just a plain vanilla R C Allen vacuum AI. Well,
it worked great on the flight - erected quickly, and nice and stable...
