Memorial Day weekend ruined by [email protected]
All day long heard private plane noise, couldn't have my usual barbaque outside, drove me crazy. Had to go inside, cook ribs inside with loud music playing to drown out the plane noise.

Jay Honeck wrote: (Although the T-birds flew short a plane -- I suppose one of the pilots was under the weather?) Here's the reason, found on EAA's website of all places: The Thunderbirds announced in June that they would fly a five-airplane formation until a newly assigned right wing pilot...

FINALLY saw a P-38 fly by Jay Honeck
And I thought that Oshkosh this year would finally bring my long-anticipated viewing of a P-38 in flight, with Glacier Girl's anticipated participation. Much to my delight and surprise, Porky II, the "Planes of Fame" museum's flying P-38, was at the Quad City Airshow yesterday, in Davenport,...

More SR-71 trivia by Jay Honeck
One of the best parts of owning an aviation theme hotel is getting to meet folks who worked in the aerospace industry during the heyday of American military aircraft development. Today we met a fellow who worked for Pratt & Whitney on the SR-71 Blackbird's engines. He's here for a wedding, and is...

Here we go. We gotta torpedo the boats as well as shooting down the planes by Icebound
CNN is carrying a breaking news story from British Columbia. A runaway ferry could not get into reverse thrust and plowed through a marina crushing a number of small boats. We should obviously outlaw all boat traffic.
