Does anyone have any experience using a Wilga as a towplane?
Yes, most if not all airclubs in Eastern Europe use Wilga as a towplane. The aircraft was specially built for this purpose. The rear window and the flying atitude...

low vs high tow by
John Firth[_4_]
Since the 2-33, whatever it's demerits may be, will continue
as a basic trainer, there is much to be said for going low tow.
The student is less likely to allow the glider to
get too high, and the instructor whose view is restricted
downwards can see the towplane at all times.
That brings...

PowerFlarm Support in the US??? by
[email protected]
If a PowerFlarm Core does not appear to be transmitting correctly (antennas have been checked, etc.) where can one send the unit and get support in the US? Does it need to go back to Germany? Has anyone ever sent their PowerFlarm Core in to have it checked out...
Thanks

LXNAV V7, tasks, and navigation by
ES
Page 16 of the V7 version 3.01 user manual discusses navigating with the V7, and has an image of the instrument in course direction mode.
But I can't find any discussion of how the V7 knows where to navigate to (other than going "home"), or even how to get into "Navigate" mode.
My Oudie has a...

FlightRadar24 too good to be true? by
son_of_flubber
$2.99 for a real time merge of ADS-B and radar? Is this too good to be true or is it time for me to finally break down and buy a smart phone? There is no obvious subscription fee (but that might be buried in the fine...

Soaring near Chamonix, France? by
Don Davidson
My wife and I are vacationing in Europe this year and are including a visit to Mont Blanc, near Chamonix in the French Alps. Naturally, I am trying to fit in a dual soaring flight while we're there. Anyone have a suggestion? Thanks in advance.

4 cell Battery Assembly Question by
[email protected]
I have 4 brand new LC-R067R2P1 battery cells (6V,7.2 Ah) which I plan to wire together into a 12-volt glider battery (2 in series, and the series string in parallel).
All 4 cells have the identical notations on their cases. Each cell was labelled by the seller: "Top Charged 09/13".
I measured each...

Microair 760 by

I have a Microair 760 that I installed in my ASW20 that didn't wire up like the instructions. The cabin speaker leads have 12v on them, burned up a new speaker. The only way I can use it is with a head set because if you use a boom mic I get bad feed back. I installed one in my LS1 and it worked...

Nephi, UT by
Kevin Christner
Can anyone comment on the terrain for Nephi, Utah. Would it be suitable for an eastern pilot with limited XC experience in the west?
Also, what have you experienced regarding typical winds. I'd be brining a Libelle 301. Penetration is limited.
Thanks,

They would be useful for glider airflow studies, and you're staring at a thermal detector, shear detector, whatever.

Malaysia Flight 370 - Troubling Questions by
Kevin Christner
Hi all,
The news on flight 370 got more interesting today. It appears the plane flew for several hours after dropping off radar. This begs a few questions.
Why, in this day in the security age, is it possible to turn of the transponders in flight?
Why don't all airplanes have GPS tracking...
