I want to remove the KMA20, Dual HX170B's and KT76 from their trays so that I can easily clean up all the knobs faceplates etc. What special tools do I need to remove them ? And ... Where can I purchase ? Thanks in advance for the good response I know I will get. Roy Page 28291 Misty Morning Lane

Early 60's 182 numbers? by Brinks
I'm looking into an early '60's vintage 182. I was wondering what people had for real world numbers on cruise speed and fuel burn. And if anyone has any advice on particulars to look for during a pre-buy or anything else, that would be helpful also. Thanks! Chris

Piper PA-28 question by GE
I recently purchased a 1973 Cherokee Charger. So far, I am really enjoying the aircraft, but I have a question that has gone unanswered. There is no mention of it in the POH or the information manual that I have. Beneath the throttle quadrant but above the fuel selector (on the right side), there...

Aviation Video: Another F-16 bites the dust by Iwan Bogels
Have you ever wondered why they sometimes call the F-16 a "Lawndart" ? Well, the answer is in the video that we have just uploaded on our weekly aviation mishaps, accidents and crases webpage: www.dappa.nl/crash.htm. The pilot ejected safely (seen on video), and only some local worms suffered from...

Lenders? by 12voltman
I apologize if this gets posted twice but... I am pursuing a purchase of a SenecaII, and though my partner and I have good credit and appreciable assets, we were turned down by MBNA/AOPA. Honestly I felt that the loan officer didn't have much interest in my business and generally seemed apathetic...

Oxidation vs. Bad Paint? by Marco Leon
While washing and waxing my white Warrior last weekend in prep for the winter, I noticed that the water squeezed from my towel was a bit white. Is this a normal side-effect from oxidation or is it bad paint? The plane was last painted 1996 with DuPont Imron. Marco

Just got home from work and at this time in the morning the only thing on TV is infomercials :( So here I am watching these infomercials and on comes the one for the Cyclone Fuel Saver. Now they claim that it improves fuel mileage and power output from the engine. So I was just wondering if anyone...

Lubricity and Auto diesel conversions by Dude
I read in Road and Track that US diesel fuels have lower lubricity than the euro diesel. This can cause problems with the new import diesels. Does anyone know about Jet A? Will this affect the SMA and Thielert engines?

Repairing fiberglass wheel pants by Jay Honeck
The fiberglass on our "Fancy Pants" main gear wheel pants has been deteriorating for some time. The holes in the fiberglass through which the dzu-type connectors pass are "wowed" out -- and now some of them are completely broken out. As a result, several of the metal backing plates have fallen...

C172 fuel cap by [email protected]
I have two different after-market fuel caps on my C172. The right tank cap is vented; the left is not. Should both be vented? Is a properly functioning vented cap one that only allows air to flow into the tank?

Airplanes in a 60' x 60' Hangar? by Kyle Boatright
Anyone have experience with a 60x60 hangar? Our EAA chapter may have the opportunity to lease one, and the economics will be driven by the number of aircraft we can store. We'll have a mix of types - figure 25% RV's, 25% kitfoxes, 25% C-172's, and 25% Cherokees. Any thoughts on the number of...
