Hard Deck by Jim White[_3_]
Time to change the subject line? I have been thinking about the hard deck idea. Possibly fine in flat land soaring but I am not sure it adds much when ridge flying. I perceive another problem: Turbos are even more dangerous near the ground than pure gliders. I may be happy in my 27 at 500ft but...

Was so tried of the hard deck discussion thought I would try a discussion of dreams. After seeing the vision of Elon Musk with his Falcon Heavy, I had to pinch myself. Those two boosters landing in sync.. What are some of the innovative, new technology, original thought, scifi dreams, would you...

It works really well, even in the boonies at New Castle. Check it out, http://tinyurl.com/y9tzqgpk I'm using the (free) GlideTrack iOS app. There's a similar android app. I'd like to encourage others to do the same. That's a link to the embedded SSA tracking page for 9/23 @ Region 4 South. If...

Seeking help regarding SeeYou waypoint management by [email protected]
If you are an experienced SeeYou user, hope you can help me. I don't want waypoints all combined into one master waypoint file. Instead, I want waypoints cataloged in sub-folders specific to "take-off" location. Therefore, when opening SeeYou waypoint database, you would be presented with a list...

looking for some instrument debugging help. I have a steam gauge ASI (winter) and an LxNav S80 sharing the same Pitot and static lines. In the air, the two gauges read ASI differently. The S80 reads about 10 knots higher than the Winter at 70 knots, and 5 knots higher at 40 knots. The error...

Worried about a leading edge crack in the fiberglass wing laminate ofmy PW-5 by [email protected]
Hi all. I own a PW-5. I have a MM Fabrication Wing Rigger I use when put the glider together and take it apart. Yesterday, a gust of wind caught the wing when it was vertical on the wing rigger, and even though I was holding the wing steady near the spar, the wind force was strong enough to...
