Hard Deck by
Jim White[_3_]
Time to change the subject line?
I have been thinking about the hard deck idea. Possibly fine in flat land

than pure gliders. I may be happy in my 27 at 500ft but...

New Glider Dream Elon Musk Flow by
Jonathan St. Cloud
Was so tried of the hard deck discussion thought I would try a discussion of dreams. After seeing the vision of Elon Musk with his Falcon Heavy, I had to pinch myself. Those two boosters landing in sync..
What are some of the innovative, new technology, original thought, scifi dreams, would you...

Old Cambridge GPS Nav by
Ross[_3_]
Powered up an old Cambridge GPS Nav today and the LCD Display gives me the warning to check the LCD Cable.
Having done this, made a new cable etc, I have still got no solution to the problem.
Any suggestions other than the rubbish bin? :)
Cheers

Seeking help regarding SeeYou waypoint management by
[email protected]
If you are an experienced SeeYou user, hope you can help me.
I don't want waypoints all combined into one master waypoint file. Instead, I want waypoints cataloged in sub-folders specific to "take-off" location. Therefore, when opening SeeYou waypoint database, you would be presented with a list...

Prandtl multi probe receptacle used for TE only? by
Matt Herron Jr.
I have a Prandtl type receptacle in the fin of my ASW27. The previous owner converted to to TE probe only, by tying off the static and pitot lines behind the panel. Anything wrong with this set-up? I guess there would be more potential for leaks, at a minimum. will the extra volume of air...

strange ASI readings on LXNAV s80 vs Winter ASI by
Matt Herron Jr.
looking for some instrument debugging help.
I have a steam gauge ASI (winter) and an LxNav S80 sharing the same Pitot and static lines. In the air, the two gauges read ASI differently. The S80 reads about 10 knots higher than the Winter at 70 knots, and 5 knots higher at 40 knots. The error...

SIGMA, the glider to incorporate all possible technical advances. by
john firth
The link below produces Nick Goodhart's essay on the marvels of
Sigma, a Britsh effort to make a world beater; this was before it flew!
It failed probably due to excessive mechanical complexity and the high
pilot work load. also the complicated extending flap proved difficult
to implement and...
