Ethanol by
Dave
Where is it dictated that certain states/cities require ethanol in their
auto fuel?
I've been to the EPA website and get 1000 hits on ethanol, but none
which show me the requirements.
Thanks
Dave

Ethanol Free Car Gas by
[email protected]
I wanted to start a thread based on my recent experience with car gas.
I'm not out in Ada, OK, and got worried when I saw that the local Wal-
Mart gas station sells ethanol gas. This is no good for Anna, so I did
some research with my coworkers and found 2 gas stations in Ada that
sell ethanol free...

Ethanol mogas by
john smith
I was wondering if it is possible to remove the ethanol from mogas and
thought of the folling idea.
Alcohol binds with water.
Get a big tank with a spigot at the bottom, fill it with mogas.
Add water, aggitate, let sit.
The alcohol ladden water will settle to the bottom.
Open the spigot, drain the...

Ethanol nightmare is here now! by
Al[_2_]
I just happened to see a sticker on a fuel pump today that stated "may
contain up to 10% ethanol" while I was filling my car this morning.
Upon further investigation with my fuel retailer, the local fuel jobber,
and the fuel distributor here in Spokane, Washington that there is a
federal...

Ethanol Powered Airplane Certified In Brazil by
Victor
For those of you who do not have experience with etanol as fuel here
it goes. Engine compression is a little bit biger than a gasoline
engine. It burns a little bit more fuel. The big problem is that
ethanol is corosive. It will eat even carburators specially treated
for ethanol. What I was told...

EUROCONTROL - General Aviation Survey 2007 by
CrossPoint
Dear Friends,
I would like to invite you to participate in the General Aviation
Survey 2007. There are many risks one can face as a pilot or passenger
in the busy European skies. One of those is mid-air collision. Many
factors may cause it. A major one is airspace infringement. The survey
is being...

evac-u8 smoke hood by
Mike Noel
I recently purchased a couple of these smoke hoods from Aircraft Spruce.
Yesterday Spruce called and said not to use them and they should get back to
me in 30 days with more information. Anyone have any further info on this?

EVAC-U8 smoke hood update by
Mike Noel
I just got a call from Aircraft Spruce. The makers of the EVAC-U8 smoke
hood are initiating a recall. The details are at www.evacsafety.com . Use
the sidebar links to get to the refund instructions. Evidently the units do
not adequately protect users from CO.

Evacuating for Katrina by
Marty from Florida
So here we go again. It's just before 6:15am, and what was a storm a few
days ago is evolving into a catagory 1 hurricane. There's not a hanger to be
found on the eastern seaboard of Florida, so we're on our way north. You
just have to love Florida ....

evaluating aircraft by
GE
Guys, thanks in advance for your help on this one. My airplane was lost in
Katrina (more on that later), and I am looking at buying a quarter share of
a local plane. I am trying to get a decent idea of the valuation of the
aircraft, which is a '79 Archer II. I have run the numbers on both...

Evaluating high-time airfames by
Andrew Gideon
My club is purchasing another 172. One of the choices we've found - and
otherwise nice airplane - has racked up 10,000 hours total time. Most of
the other aircraft at which we've looked have had TTs of something less
than half this.
Are there special considerations for an airframe with this much...

Evils of crossposting to rec.avionation NGs by
VideoGuy
Please understand, I'm NOT trying to begin/continue any kind of arguement.
This is a serious attempt to gain understanding.
As I've only been lurking around aviation newsgroups for a little more than
a year, I'll readily admit a lack of understanding of the finer points of
R.A.O "netiquette". ...

Example hangar lease agreements? by
Tony Cox
Our local airport manager (61B, Boulder City, NV) is keen
to "rationalize" the various hangar leases that have sprung up
over the years. The existing agreements are, I'll agree with him,
quite a mess -- some permit "commercial" hangar use, most have
a different term, and at least one prevents the...

Hello everyone. I'm continuing my quest to buy the best deal in America
today.
Another option I've looked at is purchasing a low price Cessna with an
engine that's past it's recommended time between major overhaul. Some of the
sellers I've spoken with are insistent that recomended times...
