HELP. I need a TRUE story for television by Monday by
John Shelton
Fellow soarists,
I did not make myself clear. My apologies.
The production company is not making a slasher flick. It is trying to find
EXPEDITIONS with an element of danger that might include a survival segment.
In soaring, we have plenty of possible danger. These guys are seeking
expeditions....

ClearNav2 compatibility? by
Phoenix
I'm installing a ClearNav2 and already have a Cambridge LNav / GPSnav w/Cambridge vario. Is there any reason to keep the Cambridge combo in the panel? Anything it can do that the CN2 can't? Should I just install hole covers and try to sell the Cambridge combo?

Drag of Transponder Antennae compared by
AS
Interesting home-brewed investigation into the drag between the fin-type and rod-type transponder antenna by one of our friends in The Netherlands.
Seems like the fin type antenna - unless mounted exactly on the centerline of the glider, where the flow is expected to be parallel - may produce a lot...

Goop / caulk recommendations by
Jonathan St. Cloud
My trailer arrived with two soft solar chargers attached to the roof top via a sort of caulk/goop. Two years later the trailer is leaking under the solar panels. Looking for a recommendation for a goop or caulk that is white or clear, and can withstand the sun and heat of the Western USA flying...

Kobo with Cambridge 302 by
[email protected]
Is anybody running xc soar on a kobo connected to a Cambridge 302? If so, what type of cable did you use to connect, and which port on the kobo did you tell xc soar to use? I'm running it on a pocket pc now, using a custom serial cable. But the kobo is much easier to see. I made up a homemade...

MIRRORGLAZE by
John Firth[_4_]
For year, I used to use mirrorglaze for my canopy,
almost every preflight.
Then it disappeared from local plastics supply.
Bought some online a year or two ago, used with good
results.
Yesterday, I squirted some on the PIK canopy and immediately
started polishing.
To my dismay some patches seemed...

XC Skies by
JS
For years I've used XC Skies GFS as my standard reference.
Ar the moment, it seems to have turned to rubbish.
The New South Wales maps have a lot of square or rectangular areas in which the model changes drastically. Knowing it can't be real, I've switched to the local RASP models (which are...

TOST Tow Spring Pad for Cub by
[email protected]
Hi All,
In the process of trying to install a TOST towing system on a Super
Cub. Original part received was a different design and no longer made
by TOST, and there was no way we could make it fit, so it's having to
be returned to the dealer. So now, we are thinking of putting the
current...

For Sale: Used Cambridge 302A by
Paul Remde
Hi,
A customer has asked me to help him sell his used Cambridge Aero Instruments
CAF-302A GPS flight recorder. This unit is the version that does NOT
include a variometer or speed-to-fly director. The customer purchased this
unit from me (new) on July 1, 2005 - so it is only a few months old. ...

this description:
"Bob Carlton working on his innovative conversion of an Alisport Silent

and reports it to climb well."
Can anyone tell me the email...

Ground Launch Endorsement by
Kevin Christner
Any CFIG's within a days drive of Buffalo, NY willing to give a ground
launch endorsement. I've found an airport that will let me auto-
launch of their 5600 ft runway. This seems to be preferable to 2.5+
hr drives to reasonable glider clubs.
TIA
