Portable XM Radio receiver in the cockpit? by
Peter R.
I have made the jump to satellite radio for my car, choosing XM Radio as
my provider. Wow, am I in love now that I am free of the canned format
of commercial radio! :)
I was wondering if anyone has taken the portable version of the XM radio
receiver, in my case called the Delphi Roadie or Roadie...

Portable/handheld radio by
Danny Deger
I am just about ready to buy an older Taylorcraft that has no electrical
system. I am looking for recommendations on a battery operated radio to use
in the plane. I would really like one that also works as an intercom.

position and hold at an angle by
Jose
A few months ago there was a discussion here about positioning on the
runway at an angle to better see traffic from the rear while awaiting
takeoff clearance, and I opined in the face of dissent by Steven
McNicoll that it was a good idea.
I had a chance to fly a 172 while I was out west and was...

Position and Hold at uncontrolled field by
dave
I was returning to LOM today and after one plane had landed but not yet
cleared the runway, a pilot at the approach end announced "position and
hold". He taxied into position and waited for the previous aircraft to
clear the runway. He then made a normal departure. I was taught at
uncontrolled...

Positive GA press coverage by

Positive press (and first flight in months...) by
Bob Martin
So I was flipping through the Atlanta Urinal and Constipation today... and I saw an
article about aviation. More specifically, it was in their weekly News for Kids section.
It basically talked about general aviation in Georgia, in a positive light, and spread
word about the Young Eagles...

Positively Titanic -- Congrats, Roger Long! by
Jay Honeck
Let me be the first to say: Great show, Roger! Congratulations on coming
up with a new theory of Titanic's demise.
To be able to "fly" 2.5 miles straight down into the depths of the North
Atlantic -- wow! What an experience that must've been.
Now go buy a Bonanza with all the speaking fees...

Possible "deliberate" plane crash by
Ricky
As our simulator captain has provided a link to, a plane crashed into
a building just an hour south of my home in Waco, TX.
What I want to say about this is that nobody knows whether or not this
crash was "deliberate" or not and probably won't for a long time. To
say otherwise is simply jumping to...

possible FAA action... flight or fight? by
[email protected]
I got in a little trouble with the FAA and they want to take my license
for 6 months. Now their case isn't too strong (and based very much on
the subjectivity of "safe" and not on any clear cut violation of a
FAR). I'm trying to decide whether to fight it (expensive attorney
fees) or just suck it...

Possibly the stupidest idea ever... by
Paul Tomblin
One of the guys who founded our flying club 40+ years ago is still a
member. He's got a lot of experience, but quite frankly some things I've
heard about him scare the hell out of me. But nothing quite as bad as
this: He's proposing that the club does a "Missing Man Formation" over

Post air pictures on usenet. by
TThierry
I've changed my gallery and now there are direct links towards the
pictures in the gallery. Thus, if you want to show a picture and don't
have your web page, as long as it is an air picture, you can use the
gallery to make it available on the net, then post the link to access
it.
Try these ones...
