Pitts brake fluid by Al MacDonald
While recently doing some extended inverted time, practicing rolling out on headings while still trying to maintain altitude, I noted some brake fluid had leaked onto the pedals and got rather slippery. I hadn't noticed this before, as most of my stuff so far has been positive Gs. I'm assuming...

Christen Eagle Inspection Help by [email protected]
Hi all, I'm travelling to the US from the UK in a couple of weeks time in an attempt to buy an Eagle. Although I can do a preliminary inspection, I would feel far happier having either an Eagle experienced engineer or an existing Eagle owner to help inspect the prospective aircraft. If an...

C-172 by gt
I own a 1960 Cessna 172 with 2500 hours on the airframe. It is not rated for aerobatic flight, but the positive and negative G loads that it is approved for far exceed the normal G forces associated with a well-executed barrel roll. Has anyone heard of this maneuver being performed in a 1960 172?

cloth helmet by Yann D.
Hi Anyone could help me finding a light cloth helmet for my standard "clark-like" headset ? I have made something efficient but ugly with clips from an old mtb helmet. There are nice leather helmets on the web but often circa $200 which is definitely too much for the thing, and anyway will not...

Pitt wings by Al MacDonald
Greetings, I'm looking at purchasing a good used Pitts S-1D with "C" wings. I can't imagine why anyone would make this combination but I'm thinking it will keep me on the learning curve for quite some time anyway. I've read the difference between the "C" and "D" wings are an extra set of...

Opinions? by Chris
Was just looking over some old brochures, and got to thinking about the Starduster line of biplanes. Anyone have experiences with them? In particular the Acroduster or Super Starduster models. Also, as a fan of aviation history, as well as the newer sport designs, I'm curious which of the two is...

Novice question by Burt Tims
Many years ago a remember reading about an aerobatic maneuver in which the aircraft, flying basically straight and level, was thrown into an attitude which caused it to "tumble", in effect going tail over nose, then recovering to straight and level. My best memory of the name of the maneuver was...

Pitts Certification by moby
I have a recently bought Pitts S1-C and I am trying to get its new airworthiness certificate since the one it had became void at the change of ownership. The FAA, however, wants a letter stating that the S1-C is an aerobatic airplane which seems like complete bull to me. I'm wondering where I could...
