Boeing 737 Maritime aircraft by
JD
I was checking out the new Naval Proceedings (I'm a new subscriber) and saw
an advertisement for the 737 as a maritime patrol aircraft complete with
hard points and weapons. It looks pretty cool, but I was surprised.
Does anyone have it in their present inventory or is it merely a proposal...

Naval Aviator Production by
Frank Minich
Hi,
Does anybody know of a chart showing the number of Naval Aviators
'graduating' on a year-by-year basis, going back to the 40's?
I know it would be tougher now that "Naval Aviator numbers" are not assigned
to individuals, but I'm just wondering.
What with the 'payback' period growing longer...

Hercs used for anti-ship bombing by Argentina by

Yes, a Herc was used for anti-ship bombing.
You gotta love people who improvise in wartime!

ships re-supplying the task force by simply pushing a bomb
out of the back of the aircraft as it flew...

F/A-18 approach speed rule of thumb by
tscottme
What's the gouge for knowing the proper approach speed based on weight
(carrier landing)? I may get a chance for a few hours in a sim over the
holidays. The sim may use a CF-18 model, which I understand to be similar
to an A/B model Hornet. I'm assuming an A model is closest approximation.
Any...

V-22 Prop Configuration, 3-vs-4 blades by
Don McIntyre
Why did they settle on the 3-blade configuration? Wouldn't a 4-bladed
system allow for a smaller footprint on the ground (or ship)? Or is
there too much thrust loss involved?

Sähköjaostolle salamasuojista by
Niko Nylund
Ihan alkukevennykseksi tapaus JiiPee. Kaveri hihkui innoketta nettiin ja
kertoili pääsevänsä Olkiluotoon "oikeisiin ydintöihin" turbiinihalliin.
Ihasteli suurella volyymilla, miten komennus oli hänen elämänsä täyttymys.
No sitä kokeneemmat koetti toppuuttaa, ettei punaisena meuhkaava...

Anyone have any experience with the F7U "Gutless Cutlass" by
MuseumTech
I was wondering if there were any retired Naval Aviators who have
flight hours logged with the dreaded F7U Cutlass. I work at the
National Museum of Naval Aviation here in Pensacola. We currently have
one on display. Aesthetically speaking, it's a pretty nice looking
plane, but I have read a lot of...

Corsairs will be located at various positions to see how much damage they
take. The...

During lunch time this afternoon, The History Channel reran one

but the other half had good coverage, including film footage of
the Roosian tests, of the development...

Is the S-3 Viking going to be retired? According to this article here
they want to axe it asap
http://www.wtok.com/news/headlines/1204527.html

until the f-35 becomes available? Thank god theres no "F/C-18" .

Old airframe, new engine by
Jim Strand
Every year or so I post a similar version of this. Always nice to see
the comments. Seeing as how we have a few new faces around here now
lets have another go at it.
You are able to select any tactical jet airframe from the past. We'll
assume all engines would fit properly. What bird would you...
