GA cockpit and radio recorder by Ronnie
I have a couple of instrument students that are having some trouble with the radio communicaitons during their instrument training. It occurred to me that recording ATC & their transmissions for post-flight debriefing and review would be a value learning tool. An easy way to do this is to plug a...

Circle to Land @ KRBG by Al
At our home field, KRBG, Roseburg, Oregon, we use left traffic for both ends of our RWY 34-16. The approach procedures cite "Circling east of the rwy 34-16 centerline not authorized". What do I do when I break out, and have to "circle west of the centerline for RWY 16", while VFR traffic is...

LAX? by Dane Spearing
Has anyone ever flown a light single into LAX? If so, would you care to offer some advice? In a few months, I've got a relative who is flying into LAX from overseas, and I would much rather fly in to pick them up rather than face the madhouse we call "driving to LAX". Do they prefer IFR or VFR...

FAA Buffoons continue their stupidity by Gary Drescher
"TaxAmnesty" wrote in message ... Remember, Gay Pride and unqualified black females now run the politically correct but out of control FAA. It appears Air Safety is way down on the priority list. But they do celebrate Gay...

Suggestions for KVGT arrival by Howard Nelson
Will be flying SF bay area to KVGT next week. Will arrive from the west. Haven't been into Las Vegas area in over 20 years but have heard it is busy. Any suggestions to keep it simple. Would I do better to file IFR to North Las Vegas or just come in VFR and deal with Las Vegas Approach. Thanks in...

DuPage from the east by Paul Tomblin
I'm flight planning a flight to DuPage (KDPA) from Rochester (KROC). Aeroplanner's automatic route has me going in V6 to NILES and then direct, but I was thinking that maybe coming in V8 to JOT and then direct would keep me more out of Chicago's hair. (Or "O'hair" as the case might be.) Or should...

Aviation Racism by Yougottobekidding
Should pilots begin working to identify and expose reverse racism against white heterosexual men in the avation workplace disguised under the veil of diversity?

control locks were still locked when the aircraft took off ( Video-Footage ) by [email protected]
An excellent reminder that there really are good reasons to do a thorough preflight and to make sure the controls are free. This happened just north of Winnipeg, and the aircraft was the first version with PT-6-67 Turboprops. The Canadian DOT concluded that the control locks were still locked when...

Legal Weather Sources? by Dane Spearing
Aside from a call or visit to an FSS, or DUATS, are there any other "legal" sources from which a pilot is allowed to obtain weather reports? I'm not talking about what's actually *useful* here...hell, sometimes the weather channel is the most useful thing out there...I'm interested in what's...

Flew my first SID by john smith
After 21 years of being instrument rated, I flew my first SID this week. Departing KPBI on Thursday afternoon, bound for the first fix, LBV (LaBelle VOR). Normally, I file NO SIDS OR STARS in the remarks section. This time I forgot and they gave it to me.

Is Diversity a safety issue? by BushOKDemocratsSTUPID
Is it OK for the FAA or Airlines to pass over white males for black females so the diversity numbers look better? Just curious how airline and private pilots felt about safety positions being filled by unsafe and/or unqualified (Other than White Male) employees?

http://astra.aero/downloads/ABIT/ABIT06-Meeting_Minutes_27-Jun-05.pdf Trimble 2000X Navigator? According to this website, it will be certified to TSO C146a (as Garmin GNS480) and at $6,500, this sounds like a good deal. I have a Trimble GPS, but I thought Trimble sold its aviation GPS business...
