Flying to Fields near OSH by
Rob McDonald
I unexpectedly have the opportunity to fly to Airventure for a few days. A
friend who has done this before has recommended that I fly to a field near
OSH rather than right in to Wittman Regional. I will be flying around the
north end of Lake Michigan.
Do you have any recommendations for which...

Moller hits the UK by
CanalBuilder
He's at it again. Now he's convinced the BBC. I suppose it's not
surprising as media organizations are dominated by people who aren't
good at the practical stuff.

Pleas feel free to contact the BBC and tell then what's wrong with the
article.

Wooden Notes by
[email protected]
To All:
The low cost and wide availability of wood in America makes it a good
choice for the budget-minded builder of simple flying machines. The
only problem is that when picking the stacks at the local lumber yard
you need to know a fair amount about wood in order to select the most
suitable...

Nav/Comm for homebuilts question(s) by
Dave Gribble
I was just wondering what homebuilders are have installed or are planning to
install into their aircraft to provide Nav/Comm capability?
Handheld or panel-mounted? If panel-mounted, then:
older, TSO-certified radios?
new, but used, radios?
brand new radios (a KX-155 with glide slope lists for...

Fair price on used Rotax 447? by
Nunya
Hi Folks,
There's a used Rotax 447, I believe a Prov 8, available for sale in my
ultralight club. It has 450hours on it. It was running perfectly when it
was removed and stored in a plastic bin 6 months ago. It was replaced with
a Rotax 503. It's a pull start, free air version with dual carbs,...

Washout? by
[email protected]
I picked up a project that was supposed to be built with 1.5 degrees
of washout towards the end of the wings. The builder unfortunately
built them without washout, because while his workmanship was actually
quite good he was worried he wouldn't be able to match the wings and
one would drop in a...

SoCal hangar space? by
nauga
Does anyone know of any hangar space
available *anywhere* in Southern California?
I'll be moving my RV-4 out there sometime
around July. Prefer on or near SNA,
but I don't think I can be too picky.

Pitts Special Steel Tube Fuse Mod. by
Martin Morgan
I'm wanting to lay my seat back further in an existing pitts S1-S. This
would require moving the tube at the top of the seat back, back about
2". This member is 3/4 x 0.035 and about 22" long.
I was thinking to run 4" long gussets back to the original attachment
point, creating a C shaped...

The adapter has the male jacks at one end for the A-21,and female

It is a real pleasure to announce that one of our local EAA

first flight was uneventful. No leaks. No problems.
Frank, 90 years old, and his little brother Gordon, 87, built the RV

Electrical Relay Help by
Jeff
I have a 12v DC linear actuator, it just has 2 wires coming from the motor.
If I connect the red wire to the positive terminal of the battery and the
black to the negative, the motor extends. When I reverse the wires the
motor retracts. The motor draws about 5 amps. Pretty straight forward...
