Spaceship 2 project details released by Morgans[_2_]
In AvWeb, there is a story about some of the things going on at Scaled Composites, with some pictures of White Knight 2, and a link back to Scaled's web site, with quite a few good pictures and stories about what has been happening. 4 engines on the wing of White Knight. I did not see any...

J3 fuel valve by Tri-Pacer
Does anyone know the size of the ports on the fuel valve used in the J-3? I need to get a field approval to substitute a no longer available shut off valve in another aircraft. If the openings are 1/4 NPT I think I could use that valve. Thanks Paul

290G Question / Help by [email protected]
I have a converted 290G and would like to add an alternator. I have the alternator the correct old style case mounting bracket, pulley, etc. My problem is that the 290G does not appear to have a machined boss for attaching the tensioning. I have seen photos of several 290G's with alternators so I...

K-Aero, Florida by [email protected]
Hi chaps. I'm rebuilding a Siai Marchetti with a mate down here in Australia, and he wants to fit a turbo into it. According to the FAA website, K-Aero have developed an STC for this, but we are having a hard time finding this company. The few phone numbers we have either ring out or are...

Propeller dyno by Ernest Christley
A while back, someone posted design information for creating a square 'propeller' that could be used for determining the actual power produced by the engine. I've since changed computers and have lost the posting, and I've not been able to locate it with Google's search engine. Does anyone...

82 UL Fuel by floater
82UL was developed several years ago, to be easily produced from automotive fuel. Instead of being produce by only one or two manufacturers as 100LL is, 82UL could be made by any oil company. This should make it cheaper to produce. 82UL is NOT a replacement for 100LL. It is my understanding that...

TKM Pirep - two years later by Eugene Wendland
Hi All Two years ago I replaced my aging Narco Com 120 with a TKM MX-11R slide in replacement radio and thought I'd give a performance update. #1 Installation: This is a true slide in replacement. Remove old one and install new one and you're good to go. Simple (for me). I've heard...

missing log entry by OtisWinslow
I'm looking at an older Kit Fox and when I went through the log book there's no entry that the Phase One testing was completed and yet the plane has been flying for the last few years and has a couple hundred hours on it. They have no idea how to get hold of the original builder. Has anyone dealt...

Menasco by IAN DONALDSON
Why not just build it full scale? G'day Ted. Now that is a good question! Here in Australia we are allowed to build and fly aircraft that have a take MTOW of 600 kilograms. We do not require a full aviation pilot licence to operate these aircraft so it is an attractive proposition to make a...

When to buy an engine. by Ebby
Calling on the group for advice. I have stumbled upon an O-320 off a C-172. The engine has 2780 since new and is timed out. Although when ferried from the south, on a 9 hour flight it only used 1 qt. I get the mags, engine, logs and new carb for $4000. Is that good? No storage. It came right...
