Safelog software/flight log software question by
Mark
Anyone using safelog logbook software?
http://www.dauntless-soft.com/PRODUCTS/Safelog
I'm looking at dauntless' test prep software and they offer quite a
discount if you order both at once. The demo version has alot of stuff
crippled and only allows 10 entries.
Also, on something like this, is...

I'm going to be flying into TEB next month for the day and was

1997 Cessna 182S by
EDR
My flying club just acquired a 1997 Cessna 182S on leaseback. It
arrived this past Thursday, and I was the first club member to rent it
(today).
Interesting comparing it to our 1986 Cessna 182R.
Our EAA chapter had our monthly luncheon flyout today, so I got three
legs in to sample different power...

Flight Planning Software by
Joe Allbritten
Does anybody have or know where I can get a free flight planning
software program. I don't need anything too fancy. I am more
interested in the wind triangle calculations. ( TC, TH, WCA, GS, IAS
etc...)
An excel spreadsheet proggy would be great.
I thought it would be a great backup for an E6B...

Does anyone out there have any or all expired WAC charts that they
would like to sell or give away? As I've seen posted before, I'd like

Don Brown column by

Haven't seen anyone comment on this yet (though maybe
I just missed the thread). In any case, Don Brown's column
this week on AVWeb is clearly based on the situation and
question that Chip Jones posted here in August.

First long-distance trip by
Marc
After 4 years with a pilot's license, I took my first serious long-distance
trip, travelling for two weeks in a Grumman Tiger: me, a bicycle, and a few
bags. Went Boston - Nashville - Roanoke - Norfolk - Boston (actually
smaller airports near each of these places). Biggest thing I learned;...

PT6 question by
MLenoch
Why do we pull the props back to feather prior to shutting down? I cannot see
any reason for this. This seems a useless procedure on the shutdown checklist.
If the prop levers are left forward upon shutdown, the prop blades will go into
feather when oil pressure drops off. On start up, the...
