Composite Prime & Paint solutions by
firstflight
Looking for some comments on the best choices for PRIMING & PAINTING
composite aircraft. UV protection - Easy to work with etc..... Poly-Fiber
makes a roll-on UV Smooth prime for instance, so some of the finish work can
be done in the garage. Thoughts folks?
Thanks.

Surface Corrosion? by
Joaquin Murrieta
I'm working on a little aluminum airplane that has some surface
corrosion just under the paint in a couple places.
What do you guys use as a treatment to stop the aluminum corrosion? I
remember 30 years ago using phsophoric acid then a zinc chromate
converstion treatment. Is this still the best...

Paint Opinions Wanted! by
John S
How does one decide whether to paint an airplane with laquer, enamel,
polyurethane, or two-part epoxy? I've read all the Ron Alexander articles
about painting in Sport Aviation, and I still don't know. (It's an aluminum
floatplane.) Thanks to all those with strong opinions and the will...

At Dear Ol' AVL Airport, Asheville, NC by
jls
In order to be a flight instructor you need 5,000 feet hangar space, 1,500
feet office space, plus two airplanes, one of which must be IFR certified.
This is the official rule, in writing and enforced by the airport authority.
What this effectively does is exclude any competition for the one...

It's finally running! by
Corky Scott
Got the Ford 3.8L V6 running Sunday. Finally.
I got back from taking a friend flying at noon and finished up
buttoning it up.
Here's the background: This is a modified 3.8L V6 with a Northwest
Aero PSRU. The engine was completely rebuilt with the block baked,
bead blasted and scoured, then...

Advice on sanding fibreglass by

Hey all,
I'm planning on starting to build a molded kit in the summer and in
the meantime I'm trying to perfect my fibreglassing skills by building
a toolbox (and making all the rookie mistakes on it instead of a wing).
I went to the EAA sportair workshop which was awesome but it primarily
focused...
