ELT mounting; NTSB by

Ted Stevens crash.
I'd have thought the ELT would have a integral antenna with some
kind of switching scheme, but I guess not.

We were making no better than 270 knots groundspeed. I guess the Cap't
was not BS'ing us about a stiff headwind at ~33,000...
Any slower & we'd have to gotten out & pushed...

That's rather unfair -- everyone involved: the cabin crew, Airbus

An OT query for folks here. While discussing things that can happen
between the jetways, I posited that it's a really bad to be aloft
in Big Iron in a medical emergency, etc. -- based on how long it
takes to get on the ground.
That brings up the question of how long that time really is....
