lighting for fuel gage, oil gages, etc. on 172N by
scott moore
Hi,
I have lit my entire panel, via a combination of "nu-lites" and
instrument replacements of instruments that were internally lit.
I am quite happy with the result, but I still have dark fuel,
oil pressure and temp gages, and the ammeter on my Cessna 172N.
I have searched the web quite a bit, I...

MFD recommendations by

Since I already have two very good radios, I think a Garmin 430 would be a
waste of money (even if I traded in one of the KX155s).
At this point in time for a new IFR GPS installation, I think...

Mystery Oil leak... cont'd and long by
Jim Burns
Why would a cold engine drip oil out of the breather? If you're bored or
have any answers... read on.
Lycoming IO-540 C4B5
Like some of the other owners in the group, we've had a mystery oil leak on
one of our engines. Nothing severe, not enough to show up as "missing" on
the dip stick. ...

Panel mount for handheld Garmin GPSMap X96 series by
Brock Boss
Found this on JA Air Center's website the other day:
http://shorterlink.com/?R7L145
This solves a problem we(my brother and I) have encountered in our 67
Skyhawk. We were thinking about fabricating some type of panel mount
for our Garmin GPSMap 296 but just couldn't come up with a good...

FAA Owner's survey by

The FAA has been nagging me repeatedly to
fill out their aircraft owner's survey.
Does anyone have a strong opinion either
way as to why I should or should not do it?

Remote power control by
Paul Tomblin
Last month in "GA News" there was a brief mention of a system that allowed
you to turn on a power plug by calling a pager or cell phone. I was
interested in it for controlling the Tanis heater on my plane, but a
friend at work was describing needing something similar for his cottage to
turn on the...

ADF Problem by
Al[_2_]
The ADF in our Cessna 172 isn't working right. Yes, we can receive the
audio but the indicator only swings through 180 degrees on the indicator
(from 180 to 360) and doesn't point in the direction of the transmitter.
We tried repalcing the indicator with no improvement. Can someone...

TKM MC-60 indicator install by

Anybody know of a shop in the New England region that has experience
installing these indicators? Our usual local shop hasn't and evidently
there's a bit of learning curve. Thanks.

Plug and Jump by
NVArt
Problem grows out of a six month old RG battery that won't hold a
charge for two weeks. Bought a plug and Jump from Aircraft Spruce.
Neato idea; I don't have to remove the cowl. I was going to use it to
trickle charge the battery. Trouble is, when I plug in the Plug and
Jump, it powers the panel. I...

Twins vs. Singles - comparisons by
[email protected]
With the current depressed market for twins, it is interesting to
compare something like an SR22 or C210 to a Cessna 310. You can afford
a lot of gas, insurance, and reserve for overhauls; with a $100K+
savings on the initial purchase price. Also, I'd be surprised if there
is much more depreciation...

be the most well-informed groups (the googles)writer on the net. I
would therefore like to have your personnal opinion on a question. I

To overhaul or not to Overhaul, that is the question- by
EridanMan
I've had an opportunity recently to purchase a Piper PA28-140- absolute
creme puff cosmetically... but the problem (and reason for the good
cosmetic condition) is that the plane has been sitting in an
enironmentally stable (dry, 50-80 degree ambient temperature) for
almost a decade now.
(For those...
