FLARM - Which version do I need to be on? by WaltWX[_2_]
OK, the first flight of the season here in Southern California with fellow FLARM pilots showed a failure to identify each other. WX is on v6.02 JS is on v6.05 We both could not see each other's position. I though that as long as I'm on v6.xx, the different point numbers are not significant....

FS: Aerox Regulator, Cannula and Mask by George Haeh
Moving from an ASW-20 to a 27 with automatic hookups left me with a smaller oxygen cylinder and last year I ran out on a couple flights. Then a couple weeks ago I knocked my cylinder over breaking the flowmeter - $62 at W&W; so decided to bite the bullet and switch to Mountain High. The...

Excel IGC logging spreadsheet by [email protected]
Had too much free time and I was bored out of my skull, so when pair-flying partner John Mittel (BZ) commented that he was having trouble finding a decent glider logging program that would process IGC files, I decided to give it a whirl. Thirteen revs and a broken friendship later (just kidding...

Recycle uses for old Dyneema and Spectra - ideas? by [email protected]
So many places who accept poly rope to make something else out of. All we could come up with here was put worn Amsteelblue on the retrieve winch. Sometimes the paraglider guys will ask for it but only three thousand feet for their payout machine. One less serious suggestion from a visitor was...

Looking for a car to rent in Nephi by Dave Springford
I'm planning to go to the 15M Nationals in Nephi and am looking for a car or truck to rent so that the RV can stay parked for the duration of the contest. Before I go to one of the commercial rental companies to book something, I thought I would see if there are any glider pilots in the Nephi area...

Spot sends broken notification links. Really, guys?? by Kurt Thams
I notice that Spot texts send broken links for text alerts. They are of the form: Track his location at http://tinyurl.com/abz3iek(End) The "(End)" is not actually part of the link, and therefore, breaks the link. If you peal that off, you get directed to the right place. Or maybe this is...

I can't find the answer on the website. I have a ClearNav XC vario installed in my (for sale) LAK-17a. I'm thinking of keeping it (for a price reduction, of course) and installing it in my Stemme. The question is: Does the CNvXC come with engine noise logging? If not, is it an option to...

So after attending Uncle Hank's presentation at the convention I have been inspired to sand out the crazing in my gel coat. I am planning on the 600-1000-1200-1500 wet sanding process and then buffing out the finish. I understand the basics, but does anyone have a good primer on the...
