unported flop tube by
jasonlee
A possible fix would be to keep the tube submerged at all times by,
making the tube mobile or attaching a float at its end to keep it
where it should,
another solution may be , and dont trust me here , test it first, to
make the tube double ended so one end would always be submerged.
a third...

brainstorming: homebuilt aerobatic design by
[email protected]
Hi guys,
I am thinking a homebuilt aerobatic plane and am asking for your
opinion on my idea:
The fuselage is of course 4130 steel tubes welded frame.
The point is the wing: I am thinking about using exact the same
Long-EZ's wings technique, i.e. solid form core+fiber glass cover. Why?
Because I...

Hickory NC Airport Flight Pattern by
HBYardSale
I'm looking at a house that is about 1 mile north of the airport -- right in
the flight path of the north-south runway.
I would like to find out how many planes a day fly in/out of the airport and
typically how many of these use the N-S runway.
Any help or a referral would be greatly appreciated.

Starduster Too for Aerobatics by
Jay Moreland
If a Starduster Too has inverted fuel and oil will it make a good
aircraft to learn aerobatics in? I have read that it is "Not designed
for aerobatics" but has a +6/-6 G-load capability. It may not be up to a
Pitts, but would it be comparable to a Decathalon? Would it be safe for
aerobatics? How...

Too tall for a Pitts? by
Glenn
(I tried posting this last night via a different NNTP server, with
photos, but I never saw the posting show up anywhere, so I'll post
again)
I am looking at purchasing a homebuilt S1D but am concerned that I
might be too tall. Headroom is probably OK, but I'm not sure about
legroom.
The second...

Better URL for the "Unrecoverable Spins" Article by
Jay
Dave,
Great info as always.
Thanks for not using my name when talking about "beginners entering
spins on hammerheads unintentionally" and on "fat guys sitting in the
back seat causing rudder blanking in a Super D". GRIN

Descent at Minimum Safe Airspeed by
w3n-a
http://w3n-a.blogspot.com/2008/11/descent-at-minimum-safe-airspeed.html
Too fast a glide during the approach for landing invariably results in
floating over the ground for varying distances, or even overshooting,
while too slow a glide causes undershooting, flat approaches, and hard
touchdowns. A...
