Update on new paint job and leather seats by
Longworth
We flew our Cardinal from the AOGPaint in Mena, Arkansas back to New
York last weekend. Both the paint job and seat reupholstering work
were done on time, a month from delivery date.
We were quite pleased to see the paint scheme looked exactly like
the photoshopped image which we emailed to...

Transponder prob.. by
Dave
Had a strange one today..
While squawking IDENT , our "ident" stuck "on"
ATC confirmed we were continuously "identing"
Cycling the transponder to off then on again cleared the
ident fault.
Pressing the button again locks the ident light on again

OK, Thinking-Cap Time... by
Jay Honeck
Of course, we have a new squawk shortly after coming out of the shop.
Perhaps someone here can point me in the right direction?
Here's the scenario with our 1974 Piper Cherokee Pathfinder, with a 530
hour, normally aspirated Lycoming O-540-B4B5 engine:

leaning in climb by
Matt
Hi everyone. I have a leaning question. The POH for my 152 says that the
mixture should be leaned to best power after passing 3000 feet in the climb.
However in other places in the POH (and the Lycoming site) they say not to
lean when at 75% power or higher in cruise. My question: Is the...

Insurance ? by
Kyle Boatright
I received my insurance update information today for my RV-6.
My policy is a "named pilot" only policy, which means Patty Wagstaff or Sean
Tucker wouldn't be insured on it unless they were approved by the insurance
company and added to the named pilot list. Fair enough - I'm the ONLY pilot
on my...

Will a Starduster Too suit our mission ? by
Roy Page
We have decided to buy an aerobatic plane just for the fun of flying and
getting proficient at some simple aerobatics.
A Starduster Too is available locally and we are wondering if this group has
any experience of owning one of these pretty biplanes ?
As Piper Archer drivers, without tailwheel...

Good for another 2 years! by
Jim Burns
To piggy back a thread from RAP, I'm good for another 2 years (as far as a
medical) and our plane is good for another 2 years also (as far as it's IFR
certification).
One of my partners flew the Aztec over to our local avionics shop on Monday
and it wasn't long before I got the dreaded phone call....

Fine wire plugs - pro & con? by
Paul kgyy
I'm possibly having to replace a set of plugs; what are the pros/cons
of using fine wire types? I know they are more expensive, but what do
you get in return for the cost?

Right now on www.cnn.com they have posted a short news video of a gear-up
King Air landing. Apparently, the local media got word of the impending
problem and was on hand to record the (non) event.

Your Chance to Design a Fly-In by
Jay Honeck
Okay, so I've been "volunteered" to be on the board of directors of the
biggest fly-in event in Iowa City's history, the Eastern Iowa Big Kids Toy
Show, scheduled for May 20 - 21, 2006.
See us at www.BigKidToyShow.com (Yes, they made me wear a -- *sob* -- TIE
for the photos... It was awful! ...
