Cambridge CPT 505 Variometer by John Foster
I'm in the process of building a new instrument panel in my glider and am at the point of hooking it all back up. When I have the power cable plugged in to the back of the CAI CPT 505 and turn the power on, the needle deflects to -10kt, and if I switch it to 2x, then the needle deflects to -5kt. ...

Windward's Sparrow Hawk and Duck Hawk out of production? by J. Nieuwenhuize
Windward has revamped their website (http://windward-performance.com/) and all sailplanes have disappeared from their website. Anybody in the know as to whether they've ceased any production, or sold off the molds etc?

"FAI Combined" Class? by [email protected]
Hey all - I've been seeing this terminology around, such as for next month's Region 10, but it doesn't line up with the current rules - can anyone clarify what this means?

More trailer tire/wheel issues by [email protected]
I pulled my Cobra up the Sierras to Sparks, Nv and then blew the right tire (6” of tread separated and took the fender off too). Tire and wheel were Not even warm. Put on the spare and drove the final 20 miles. Next morning I jacked up one wheel and took 2 tires and rims in and got 6 ply trailer...

Hey all - anyone have a definitive answer as to to which mfg.'s used this stuff, and when they quit? It would help narrow the search for an older glass ship.

DG-1000 - confusing W&B information in the pilot's manual by India Four Two
My gliding club has a DG-1000S. We have an overly complex spreadsheet which we use to determine permissible cockpit weights and the number of tail weights required (0-12 Kg). Part of the complexity is that the spreadsheet has to allow for 18 m or 20 m wings, plus wet or dry configuration. Another...

Antennae by John McCullagh[_2_]
I have a new glider on order and naturally I want to build-in all the things it will need over the next ten years at least, rather than adding things later piecemeal. In the non-carbon part of the fin I plan to have a radio aerial, a transponder aerial and a Flarm aerial. However it seems that...

No LXNav TrafficView Manual??? by John DeRosa OHM Ω http://aviation.derosaweb.net
The new LXNav TrafficView has been available for a while now. But where the heck is the manual? I know, I know, it is similar enough to the older FlarmView so we can "just figure things out". But a new expensive product and no manual available at startup? Really? One thing we have all...

Region 11 Truckee, California - FINAL CONTEST DAY - GOES-17 vis Videoand Flight Track by WaltWX[_2_]
Kudos.. to the R11 organizers, CDs and pilots for pulling of a difficult contest. Poor weather resulted in 4 days of contest flying including one California Grand Prix task. The last day was the only real racing day, won by John Cochrane "BB" in his ASH-31mi. It shows a classic Minden/Truckee...

Wanted urgently: A DAR-T that is prepared to help by Ross[_3_]
I have purchased a sailplane in the US and am struggling with German authorities to get it certified due to their requirements. The aircraft in question hasn't flown for 8 years and is not airworthy and I require a statement from a DAR-T saying just that. Is there anyone that can help me on this?

Fanny packs for baleout by [email protected]
I've started carrying my Inreach in a fanny pack. They are cheap, and if rotated so the pack lies between parachute straps, offer a comfortable way to keep safety equipment attached in the event of a baleout.
