I'm a contender for the LONGEST winch launch. Back at Nympsfield about 1970, I was in the T21 on a windy day, and as we got towards the top of the launch I realized we were progressing ever more slowly down the field. I looked down and saw the winch driver standing beside the winch. I kited there for about 10mins, but then got worried that the CFI (Ron Sandford) might be annoyed, so I released.
