I've got a line on a low time 1963 Cessna 182. It's strictly a VFR plane,
one nav com, transponder, encoder, new AI, HI, ELT and one new bladder. The
price is right but I'm wondering what a new updated standard T panel would
cost. Has anybody in the group updated an older non-standard Cessna panel?

A place to start is www.avion.com They sell new metal panels. For my
67 182 each side is $1200. The lower three piece switch panel is also
$1200. These are ridiculous prices. One of the nice things about the
single engine Cessna's is that the panel is not structural, therefore
putting in a new panel is a logbook entry. If you can find a template
that you like for your new panel you could just transfer it over to a
new piece of metal. I have a line on just such a deal for my new panel.
There is no reason your panel should cost more than a few hundred bucks.
