One of the wingtip strobes on our 1982 Warrior II looks like it is going
bad. Half of it looks black and it only gives one blink per second while the
other wing gives two blinks per second.
I was perusing the Whelen catalog, and our strobe lamp assembly appears to
have a pigtail terminating in a three pin Molex connector.
My question is, how much fishing will I have to do to get to the end of that
pigtail? Will I have to remove the wingtip, or can I reach it through the
bulb socket assembly?
Should come right out when you remove the socket assembly....most
likely two or three small screws and it will fall off in your hand.
Getting only a single flash from the tube might not be a tube
problem...more likely a power supply problem. I'd get it tested before
replacing a tube.
