You neglected to narrow down the use,
cost, or speed of your choice of candidates.

I deliver Airplanes all over the Country.
For my Money, it would be a Cessna 180,
or better yet a 185. These planes are
work horses and earn their keep. The
resale prices have always been up there.
On the Cheeeeeep, you could get a
170, but the 145 HP engines is kind of
anemic. If finances are a concern, you
can always find a Piper pacer, but then
you have Fabric issues. However I own
a HATZ Biplane and a Grumman Tiger,
so my requirements are a bit different.
