Here's my dilemma: I want to keep it but I will be taking more checkrides.
Say I take the commercial next year but instead of giving up my centennial
card, I hand in my old paper certificate. Will some Okie eagle eye spot
this and bust me, or can I keep the Wright Bros. one forever that way?
Why would you care? If you earn a Commercial in the future, the FAA
will issue you a new certificate anyway. Sure, they could change the
picture, but I don't see anything special about the picture now that
would indicate a change in 2004 or beyond.
Certificates issued in 2003 have centennial of flight graphics. Neither you
nor I know what ones issued in 2004 or later will be like.
