Not a problem with a certified in the US aircraft. Have a DAR inspect it
for conformity and with his okay a new airworthiness certificate will be
issued. Just contact your local FSDO or GADO for this information. I did
this several years ago with a Canadian Mooney aircraft. For $300, the local
FSDO recommended DAR didn't even walk out to the aircraft and examine it
closely. Why the FSDO wouldn't do it is beyond me. I sure did enjoy that
halogen landing light that passed his inspection, though.
