I'll give you my perspective. Many of my flying friends own
Lightspeeds. I've used them and found all of them to be more
comfortable than my DC ANRs. Almost all of these folks have also had
problems of some sort with their Lightspeeds. In my book, the DCs
are not uncomfortable, just less comfortable than the Lightspeeds.
I'll take reliability over a small measure of comfort every time.

Note : as you pointed out, not everyone has problems with
Lightspeeds, but if my personal experience (and that of many posters
here) is any measure, there is a difference in reliability between the
Lightspeeds and the DCs.
