The picture looks foreshortened, I guess due to a zoom lens, making it
look
close to the crowd. While it is close, it's not *that* close!

What I thought was really impressive was when AF-1 circled the track at a
low altitude. I believe that may have been the first time I've ever seen a
747 do that. That thing is BIG. Gave me chills and made me strangely
nervous
at the same time.
