Most older TCAS will activate the RA mode upon rotation.


really? that's a dumb design.

Last month we
had a
TA from a B-767 that had just cleared the runway as we were rotating for
take off. I don't know why it wasn't an RA.


possibly because of the increase in altitude separation.
