Sure you can do that. Make sure to leave San Jose (or whereever) at 5am.
Take him up on Tuesday, the wife up on Wednesday, and the kids up on
Thursday and Friday.

P.S.: I need to get back up to Tahoe - it's gorgeous in the summer! An hour
to get there, rent a car, and drive to the 'beach'...
