You must be talking indicated airspeeds. Cruise at altitude for an
F-16 would be 420-450 knots TAS. Most fighters have a standing waiver
of the 250 KIAS restriction below 10K. This allows them to fly a
comfortable 300 KIAS on an approach in formation.
