I would have thought there would be some kind of a Runway in Uelen. My
plan makes the fuel problem all but disappear. I plan on doing this
trip in an RV-7 with a Deltahawk diesel engine. Since AV Gas is very
hard to find in Russia, and from what I understand the closest airport
that is likely to have it, is around 1600 miles from Nome. Since the
diesel can burn jet fuel, it should be very easy to get fuel, and with
that engine in an RV-7, I will have a range of over 700 NM with plenty
reserve.
