There is a VERY HIGH interest in soccer by young people from ages 4 to
about 12, and that interests is growing as those kids get older and a
new crop of younger ones is thrown into the mix.

When I was in Elementary School, I had not even HEARD of soccer, much
less played it. I'm now 40+ and practically every kid in the
nieghborhood is playing it, and every High School has a team. Our local
soccer club is having a hard time getting enough coaches because the
number of kids signing up each year is growing by more than 50% over the
previous year. This is in South Texas, the heart of HighSchool football
hystaria.

Now, as these kids get older, many will retain that interest in soccer
and wish to see US teams in person and on TV. They will introduce their
kids to soccer and it will grow from there. It will probably take
several generations, but I expect it to be as LEAST as popular as
basketball.

Now if someone can convince my wife that flying is as safe as soccer I
can get into the air (.... helping to keep it on topic-ish)
