Recommend a stop at Cleveland's Burke Lakefront airport, a very
nice downtown airport on the shore of Lake Erie, similar to the
now-closed Meigs Field in Chicago.
I second that. The airport is very nice, it's fun to fly in and there
are things to do within walking distance. The Rock 'n Roll Hall of
Fame and the Science Center are just down the street. Good downtown
hotels also close-by.
Depending on the time of year you are planning your trip, a visit to
Sandusky, OH is also a fun thing to do. There are shuttle vans
available at nominal charge to take you from the airport to Cedar
Point, which is one of the largest/best roller coaster parks in the
world.
If you are looking for a bit of pampering (with prices to match the
word "pampering"), Nemacolin Woodlands in Western PA is a fabulous
resort with a large landing strip adjacent to the hotel. Excellent
spa, fabulous accomadations, golf, etc etc are all on the menu there.
Nice Sunday brunch, but be sure to reserve in advance.
Have fun!
