Perhaps someone doesn't think that the current association addresses
their particular needs (whatevery they may be). Another reason I've
seen parallel organizations created is when someone in the hierarchy
of the current club becomes disgruntled with some aspect of the club
management and thinks that they can do it better.

Back when I owned a Cessna, there was the CPA and also the Cessna
Owner's Organization, which is still around.
