I found out about this checking out noise on a approach control
frequency a couple of years ago. The FAA investigator told me of one of
his cases tracking down a signal blanking 121.5 in NW Arkansas. It
turned out to be the new vision screen at the University of Arkansas
football stadium, He told an interesting story of finding the problem
and correcting it.
