Hopefully a transcription error. I think Morgan Freeman is smart
enough to say "censured" when he means "censured". I don't have
similar faith in reporters.



I'm guessing that the statement that the article was quoting was not from a
written source, but from an interview. I doubt while Morgan Freeman was
explaining, he spelled out his words for the interviewer...

That said, just because Morgan Freeman usually plays extremely smart
characters doesn't necessarily make him very smart himself. It's called
Acting, and it involves reading from a script.

But the fact that he used the term in proper context implies that he is at
least smarter than the fellow who wrote the article (who must have had
first amendment on the brain at the time)!
