satire
(1) I gotta buy a flight bag. Which one should I buy?
a black one
(2) What should I keep in that flight bag?
clean boxers for those "landings" when you won't be able to reuse the plan
for a while...
(3) Which flash light should I buy for night flight?
I use a lighter. they're smaller and provide more than enough light to look
at things like fuel levels in the wings...
(4) My wife needs a headset. Given that you do not know her or for that
matter, haven't seen her, Can you tell me which headset should I buy
for her?
your old one with the ANR disabled will work so you can talk her into
letting you get a new set of Bose..
(5) I just soloed, which sunglasses do I need?
I do like Lindbergh and use a periscope. No sunglasses needed
(6) I got to buy a plane this month to get a huge tax break. Which one?
Oh! and in another thread, I have posted a question about whether to
save a few bucks on a transceiver by not getting the nav feature.
I saw a great set of plans in a woodworking mag that could be done in a
weekend with only 3 2x8's and some lag screws
(7) I am a enter profession here. I like flying, can you tell me if I
should become a professional pilot?
you can probably make better money if you can draw a pirate or a dog like on
the matchbook cover.

p.s.:
[instrcutor to student on a night flight]: In case you have an engine
failure at night and you are going down for an off-airport landing,
remember to turn the landing light on so you see where you are going to
crash.
[student]: What if I don't like what I see?
[instructor]: Turn the light off.
I like the satire. Most people have forgotten what it's like the first time
they got involved in something. Like in the latest AOPA mag, there's
nothing wrong with saying that you don't know. Asking questions is always a
good thing. But those of us with the genetic disease of MAS* are frequently
unable to ask questions because we already "know" the answer.
*Male Answer Syndrome - the ability to come up with an answer to ANY
question.
