Thanks to all. There is enough to be getting on with from those
contributions.

As it happens I am a member of AOPA so I will look at the TEB stuff.

Or, for $2.60 or so per person, you could take the NJ Transit #161 bus
out of Port Authority Bus Station and be at Teterboro in about 30
minutes (typical traffic assumed). Here's the bus schedule:

http://www.njtransit.com/pdf/bus/T0161.pdf

In either case, you would have to contact the FBO about 15 minutes out
to have them meet you at the bus or train stop. Million Air provided
this service for free when I traveled there over the summer, but I would
tip the driver US $5 or so.

That gets my vote. I regularly fly to KTEB and park at Million Air. The
school is right next door. (I sometimes buy charts there.) You can even
walk from the bus stop. I usually do. It's about a mile. The stop is at
the threshold of 19. The road runs parallel to 06 - 24. Go to aopa.org
and look at a taxiway diagram for KTEB. You should be a member... Just
book a lesson. The Hudson is surprisingly friendly airspce once you get
used to the frantic ATC traffic. (You're in class G or E) but you can't
get much of anywhere unless you deal with them.
