The field at the SE corner of the intersection of Hwy 395 and Kennedy Meadows
Rd. (about 20 miles N of Inyokern) has a landable zone, but I missed it's
centerline by about 3 feet laterally

That statement may give someone the assumption that this is a good field for a
landout, so I thought I should clarify. To be more specific, missing the
centerline 3 feet to the right caused contact with a bush, but missing the
centerline 3 feet to the left would put the glider in an undulating 2 foot deep
200 foot long rut with rocks at the end. I would choose not to land there
again if it could be avoided, but will file the site away in my memory,
although rather low on the list. No coordinates will be given, the field is
not worth it.

Also....a belated congrats to GB for an excellent performance, and thanks to GB
and 05 for their help with my retrieve. Good thing you guys didn't get to see
that field by daylight! Next year I want to go back to beating up on the
sports class (he whined).
