Default Let's keep BLIPMap alive

Those of you who have come to depend on BLIPMap will probably be
interested in knowing that Jack is now accepting contributions to help
keep the web site going. Up to now, it's been a free service and Jack
has put in not only thousands of hours, but also whatever costs have
been involved. He really needs support to keep the site going (and his
motivation up), so I strongly urge you to consider making a donation
if you use the service. Here's a link to the donation web page

http://drjack.net/BLIPMAP/contributors.html

Most donations listed are for $50-100, but if you figure how much
time and expense you save by missing the dog days and how much more
fun you have when BLILPMap gets you out on a great day that you
otherwise wouldn't have flown, several times that amount would not be
exorbitant. But every contribution helps, both financially and in
letting Jack know "his efforts ain't been in vain for nothing."

Jack's preferred mode of payment is PayPal and, for those of you not
familiar with that wonderful service, let me highly recommend it.
You're going to find more and more on-line uses for PayPal so it's
well worth the few minutes it takes to set up an account. Unlike
on-line credit card purchases, there is no way the vendor can use one
transaction to falsely bill you for others. There is no credit card
number to give the vendor. Rather, you use your PayPal password to log
on to PayPal's secure site and tell them to transfer money to such and
such an email address in this case). OK, confession
time: I was on PayPal's Technical Advisory Board and had a financial
interest in the company. But I really am telling the truth! PayPal is
now owned by eBay.

Hoping we can keep BLIPMap alive and well.

Marty

PS Thanks to Brian Choate, whose earlier posting here brought this to
my attention.
