My jack stopped leaking when I stopped lifting the jack from the top, when
putting it back in the trailer. This can cause the ram to be pulled out and it
doesn't like that. Pick it up from the bottom.

Thanks for suggestion JJ. This makes sense, and I am guilty of doing
exactly what you mention. When i was working on the pump the other
night i was surprised that the pump piston comes out if you pull up
too far.
