She still flies out of Morristown, TN (MOR), a real local legend for sure.

Yes, I have her signature in my log book for my instrument rating - a
proud treasure to have.

You are sooo right. I saw her name in a Russian's logbook for his private
ticket just the other day. He was very proud. He just recently immigrated
and has that strong Russian accent. "I hev her autogrrrroff," he said.

I used to see her there in Morristown when I stopped at the airport. She
was already a legend in the 70's and 80's. She was on NPR a few months
ago -- great interview. They flew out over Cherokee Lake, scaring Scot Simon
a little. Gosh, what a scintillating personality!
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/s...toryId=1545986 Last time I
talked to her she was fussing about having to fly in the backseat of a
doctor's Longeze while he got his BFR. "There were no controls back there
in that little thing," she said, "and I felt like a fish out of water."
