Sorry! That's the wrong 'it.' The 'it' in question
is the hypothetical 'it' referred to in your quote
rather than the quote itself.
I'd guess the answer is because you didn't run the
hypothetical statement past the 'hypothetical' editor
in your mind before you uttered it -- an all too common
