Christopher Reeve was a glider pilot, don't know if he flew powered
aircraft as well.

He did. I met him back in the early 90's at Challis, ID. We had
both dropped in for a quick fueling and were racing for the lone gas
pump. I won. As I recall, he was flying a light twin at the time.
